The Importance of Good Training
Good staff training is vital to the success of any enterprise whether it be a commercial or a not for profit company. Good training has been shown to;
- assess and bring together internal standards
- help staff value their role within an organization
- review areas for improvement to maintain and improve the quality of the service provided as reflected in their work
- be used as an ongoing process to deal with staff and client expectations of the service provided by an organization.
It is evident that while training does take place in most companies and institutions, this may range from a short introduction and discussion with a new recruit to numerous hours of intensive training and practice before that staff member is set free to take-up their role independently. The lack of uniform training often leads to varying skill levels within a department and or company that can be deleterious for both the affected member of staff as well as the department/company as a whole. The larger a company grows the harder it becomes for a central body to fully control the training needs for both new and existing members of staff. Thus the provision of a centralised automated system helps to streamline training procedures to ensure all staff meets the high standards required of them by their employer and their clients
